Prosecco

I love Prosecco. This is why we scheduled a wine tour to the Prosecco region just north of Venice.  We took the tour with 25-30 years old's. They were from South Africa, Washington DC and  California.  After a day of wine tasting we became best friends, exchanged numbers and emails, and partied together into the evening. We have been on a lot of tours but this one was the most fun we have ever had.

The Prosecco Region is beautiful.  The region is composed of the foothills of the Dolomite mountain range. The vineyards are small plots on the side of the mountains.  The wine is produced in small amounts by the vineyards and they don't produce enough volume to export.  So this is one of the few places where you can drink their wine.

This vineyard was also an agiturismo.  They have a B&B where you can stay on the vineyard. They not only produce Prosecco but also raise pork, grow fruit trees, walnut trees and vegetables.  They fed us a great lunch along with their locally produced Prosecco.

This area is like a post card.  It's rolling hills with vineyards everywhere. Quaint villages dot the landscape. No rush. No crowds. Just lovely farming communities.  I could live here.
The day started with pouring rain in Venice.  By the time we got to the vineyards, it was cool and the rain had stopped.  It was so green.  So beautiful. It made this selfie easy.
