Sorrento Peninsula

The Sorrento Peninsula has five villages in a row that line the coast line. Spectacular views, great pizza, and perfect weather. We spent four days on this coast and toured every part of coast as well as islands off the peninsula.

At night the lights of the villages make a ribbon that runs on the terraces above the sea.

Our hotel was in Marina Piccola and sat just below what looked like an old castle that was turned into a hotel.  We arrived and the guy parking our car arrived with a fresh hot pizza.  We gave him the keys to our car and he gave us the pizza.  We haven't seen our car since as we have walked everywhere. We figured the pizza was a fair trade and we didn't even get a ticket for our stored car.

The port is where all the tour boats and ferries come and go for trips to the Amalfi coast, Capri, Naples, etc. Restaurants surround the marina.  We have been eating pizza every day as this is the best pizza we have had in Italy.

The view from our hotel is looking across Napoli Bay with Mount Vesuvius in the background.
The town of Sorrento is full of tiny pedestrian streets filled with shops selling everything from souvenirs to Limoncello. Sorento is full of gelato shops and I am sure Rick found most of them to taste the product.
