There is nothing we like better that tasting wine. So we made an appointment at one of favorite wines that we can, once in a while, get on Bonaire. Their operations started in 1944. It was a treat to have a personal tour by the Manager of International Marketing. We were there right after harvest ended.
They us stainless steel tanks and American oak barrels to age their wine. None of those French oak barrels are used because they feel they are too harsh for their delicate wine flavors they produce. It was refreshing to see American oak in a winery. In the past they used concrete vats for their wine. Here is a hatch dated 1949.
Love the "fill your own jug" idea. Two euros could get you quite the headache! The water looks so beautiful. Thanks for sharing. It is always good living vicariously through you guys!
